Asset means any digital item i.e. image, footage clip or design file which may be offered for the purposes of reproduction or publication.
Basket is what you use to store the images you intend to download for reproduction or publishing purposes. You will be required to enter some basic usage details in order to proceed with your order.
Copyright law gives the photographers the right to control the ways in which their material may be used. International conventions give protection in most countries, subject to national laws. Under law, it is the photographer who will own copyright on any photographss he/she has taken, with the following exceptions:
- If the photographer is an employee of the company the photos are taken for, or is an employee of a company instructed to take the photos, the photographer will be acting on behalf of his/her employer, and the company the photographer works for will own the copyright.
- If there is an agreement that assigns copyright to another party.

Credit is the recognition of the photographer or assigned copyright owner of an image which must be printed on or alongside the images unless otherwise agreed by the owner of the image. An example of a credit is © Capture / Photographer name.
File size is the size that an asset has been saved as. The size of an image determines how big an image can be reproduced.
Gallery is a pre-selected group of images based on a theme or category.
Jpeg is a file format, which stands for 'Joint Photographic Experts Group' which is the committee who created the file format. The Jpeg is a form of compressing an image. If a jpeg is compressed too much, data is lost and information or detail within the image is lost and becomes 'blocky' or 'pixelated'.
Lightbox is where you can save image selections. You can send a copy of a lightbox to other’s for viewing purposes only or if you would like to share a lightbox with another whom you are happy to also add to or remove from, you can email the recipient who will then need to register to the site for such access.
Model release is a consent form for any model or volunteer who is the subject within an image or a film to sign to agree to the usages as stipulated in the form. Children under 16 must have the agreement of their parent or guardian to appear in an image or film and the form completed and signed by the parent or guardian as appropriate.
Property release is a consent form for any property featured within an image or film. The property release form is to be completed by the individual or corporate owner of the property. This includes exteriors of properties and includes domestic as well as commercial buildings such as a cottage or a shopping centre.
Usage is the purpose for which the asset is being downloaded.
